“We have recently undertaken an internal renovation of our home. Having had cheap paint jobs in the past, in which the preparation work was not very well done, the paint began peeling off in a very short time. My wife Maggie recommended PBF. She had seen the quality of their work at a renovation she worked on not far from us.

We contacted PBF and Bryan Swainson the project manager gave us a quote. The quote was very reasonable and Bryan along with his foreman Daniel soon had a large team of very good painters in the house. This enabled them to get through the job very quickly. Daniel insisted on a good quality job from preparation to the final finish.

We found the whole team to be very courteous and respectful, which was particularly important as Maggie works from home and needed to be able to carry on her work.

Jason was particularly good in this respect and worked away quietly and efficiently.

Quotes and advanced planning were precise and during the project we were fully supported by a project manager and the head office team. We had a great team work on the house interior and they were always polite and courteous. Often we had to make changes and this was always accommodated particularly when we had other contractors working. We initially asked Bryan from PBF to come and quote the exterior of our house for repainting. Bryan met with us and explained in detail what to expect from PBF. He spoke to us about the guarantee then he measured the job. Bryan came back a week later and presented us with a very detailed written plan showing all of the options.

We chose to go with the 10 year guarantee option because it works out much more economical in the long term. The guarantee gives us great assurance and will certainly add value to the house.

After accepting the quote, the scaffold was installed. We then witnessed the extent of the preparation involved, including stripping the old paint and applying layers of timber preservers and primers before the painting was started. Mike from Resene also popped in several times to check on the work. This gave us a lot of confidence that work was done correctly.

We have since also had the interior of our house plastered and repainted by PBF. We chose PBF over a cheaper quote because we have seen that PBF tradesmen prepare their work carefully and take their time to do things the right way. We are very happy with our choice as the rooms they have painted look fantastic.

Since PBF did the work at our place we have referred several friends and neighbours to PBF. I do not make recommendations lightly and I am pleased to say that our friends have also been really impressed with the service provided by PBF.

I’ve worked with about a dozen contractors over two house refurbishings. PBF was far and away the best. Arjen, PBF’s director, personally measured up our work, did some calculations and quoted a firm price on the spot. And right away asked for the order! Brisk and to the point. “I would like to endorse the Plasterboard Finishing team for future work. I have been using them since 2007, when I met Arjen and the team. Arjen priced a very difficult job for me, which entailed doing some very out of the ordinary work. For example, the job involved working at a winery over the filtration plant; it was about four meters off the ground and directly under the roof. Consequently, it was about 42 degrees, there was about 35 large pipes protruding through the space that was to be Gibed in. PBF supplied the Gib & fixed, Gib stopping, and paint finish. The job was done on a Saturday and Sunday as the plant could only be stopped for that period. I as the builder and the winery were more than pleased with the outcome. They have recently carried out a work in some extensive renovations, which involved new work, old patch work, also painting. The outcome was very professional. I as the builder who contracted them and the homeowners were very happy with their work.
